Special Dosia Carlson Book Discussion – In-Person

For our next book group discussion, a very special selection…An Unbroken Vigil by Duet’s late founder, the Reverend Dosia Carlson.

In 1961, Dosia was admitted to the ICU multiple times due to complications arising from the effects of polio. Later, she wrote stark reflections of her experience. Though silenced by a hole in her throat to help her breathe, in this book, she speaks from her whole heart about what she observed: her fellow critical patients along the row of beds and their somber visitors, the doctors and nurses with varying bedside manners, and her evolving feelings throughout her arduous recuperation.

Her vigil remained unbroken, as did her spirit. Dosia emerged, indomitable.
