Caring for the Care Partner / Caregiver webinar

Therapist Michelle Zipser will focus on the care partner / caregiver’s experience, and the complexities of caring for someone living with cognitive impairment.

She will talk about anxiety and depression, the role trauma(s) can have on the connection we have with the person we’re caring for, and how society’s expectations of being a “good” care partner / caregiver sets us up for disappointment, guilt and shame.

She also will also discuss fostering self-compassion and self-care, how meeting one’s own needs is as important as the person we are caring for, maintaining realistic expectations of the caregiving experience and ourselves, and what steps to take to begin healing.
