Our next Duet book group selection is a memoir: The Other Wes Moore: One Name, Two Fates by Wes Moore.

In 2000, the Baltimore Sun ran a small piece about Wes Moore, a local student who had received a Rhodes Scholarship. The same paper also ran articles about four young men who had killed a police officer. One was named Wes Moore. Wes just couldn’t shake off the unsettling coincidence that the two shared more than space in the same newspaper. He wrote a letter to the other Wes, now a convicted murderer serving a life sentence. That letter led to a years-long relationship. Wes discovered the other Wes had a difficult youth not unlike his own, yet their choices led them to astonishingly different destinies (currently, the author Wes Moore is governor of Maryland).
